Construction Laborer

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Construction Laborer to join our team. This role is essential in supporting excavation and commercial foundation projects by performing a wide range of tasks that contribute to the successful completion of each job. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be physically fit, and possess a willingness to learn and grow within the construction industry. Responsibilities: • Prepare job sites by cleaning, organizing materials, and removing debris or obstacles • Load and unload construction materials, ensuring safe handling and storage • Operate hand and power tools under supervision while adhering to safety standards • Perform manual labor including digging trenches, backfilling, grading, and compacting earth • Read and interpret grade stakes, construction plans, and blueprints • Use rakes, shovels, and pickaxes for site prep, earthwork, and trenching • Excavate to specified depths and levels based on blue top stakes and grade requirements • Move and spread dirt, gravel, and other materials as needed for site leveling • Perform fine and rough grading for foundations and utility preparation • Assist with demolition tasks such as breaking concrete and clearing old materials • Conduct pre-inspections of tools and equipment; report issues promptly • Monitor job site conditions and take appropriate action to avoid hazards • Assist heavy equipment operators and support other crew members as directed • Participate in team meetings and respond to job-related tasks beyond core duties • Perform semi-skilled work such as concrete pouring, mowing, and trimming • Work safely in confined spaces, at heights, and in all weather conditions • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs of materials and tools (with assistance if needed) • Demonstrate a strong safety mindset and comply with all site regulations Qualifications: • Experience in excavation or commercial construction preferred • Ability to understand and follow grade stakes, blueprints, and construction plans • Physically capable of performing demanding labor in outdoor environments • Basic mechanical aptitude for tool and equipment troubleshooting • Basic ability to move and operate heavy machinery such as backhoes, loaders, or other related equipment • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb ladders and scaffolding as required • Willingness to assist in multiple roles and tasks as needed for job completion • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude • Must comply with company's drug and alcohol abuse policy.
