Construction Manager

POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for field management (schedule and budget) for multiple fiber network construction projects. Candidates should have hands-on experience building out fiber networks at scale, ideally including fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks. Includes field oversight of OSP construction firms, and rapid resolution of roadblocks. Reports to Project Manager. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manage OSP engineering and construction vendors at a tactical project level, including determination of aerial vs. UG approach at segment level, and approval of handhole and drop locations. • Conduct field inspections to ensure quality assurance on specific projects as assigned. • Ensure vendor compliance with OSP engineering & construction standards. • Facilitate project progress with materials and labor/expertise when warranted. • Manage emergency maintenance activities. • Hire, train and manage in-house construction personnel. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • Proven working experience in outside plant construction management. • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes means and methods. • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards. • Competent in conflict and crisis management • Ability to communicate effectively with our customers and employees. • Excellent time and project management skills, strong communications, and vendor management skills. • Strong background in Microsoft Office365 (especially Excel, word & PowerPoint), Google Maps, Google Earth. • Strong analytical and organizational skills. • Having a clean driving record • Ability to drive and Travel for work Powered by JazzHR 8B31rWt9x7
