ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manage OSP engineering and construction vendors at a tactical project level, including determination of aerial vs. UG approach at segment level, and approval of handhole and drop locations. • Conduct field inspections to ensure quality assurance on specific projects as assigned. • Ensure vendor compliance with OSP engineering & construction standards. • Facilitate project progress with materials and labor/expertise when warranted. • Manage emergency maintenance activities. • Hire, train and manage in-house construction personnel. The Construction Inspector Supervisor will manage and coordinate a team of OSP Construction Inspectors, ensuring the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion. Duties and Responsibilities: • Achieve Lyte Fiber’s annual construction goals for passings built on time and on budget. • Assist in developing and implementing training programs to ensure team members are skilled and knowledgeable to ensure Lyte’s quality standards are met and maintained. • Ensure all OSP activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and community and company policies. • Implement quality control measures to maintain the highest standards of network reliability and performance. • Assist with selecting and approving contractors per market based on price and performance. • Oversee 3rd party construction crews for performance, safety, quality, cleanup, and repair to ensure the construction activities represent Lyte Fiber in a professional manner and respect the communities we are building to serve. • Develop weekly construction performance reports per contractor and per market. • Maintain a construction vendor scorecard and meet quarterly with each construction vendor to review their performance. • Liaise and serve as an ambassador for Lyte with local government leaders and officials both in preparation for and during construction projects. • Be proactive and forwardlooking to anticipate construction issues and ensure there is a strong pipeline of construction activity to absorb unforeseen delays without impacting the performance targets. • Ensure construction units are placed, and asbuilt documentation is properly collected and provided to OSP engineering for input into the fiber management system. • Interpret BOM’s and understand architectural and engineering diagrams, prints, drafts, tables, flowcharts, charts, equipment lists, and other visual information and documentation required to build and document the plant. • Review and fully understand the budget, schedule and requirements of each project. • Work with the project manager(s) to create and execute project work plans, schedules, and control budgets, as well as identify and acquire resources needed for the project(s). • Participate in decisions on the scope and delivery of the project, including serving as a technical expert in interpreting the specifications of the project. • Review market agreements, permits and authorization compliance and others, as applicable. • Assist the project team with periodic meetings and presentations when necessary and act as an escalation point for difficult issues with internal and external stakeholders. • Lead and supervise all aspects of the market, including but not limited to hiring, coaching, counseling, developing, creating positive teamwork and ensuring a rewarding work environment.
