Carpentry/Construction Technician

Rate of Pay: Negotiable Depending on Experience, Job Description: • Respond to service calls as needed. • Perform services as assigned, following SERVPRO® production guidelines and standard construction procedures. • Communicate with VP of operations, Construction Administrator Assistant to make sure all customer needs are met. • Support Supervisors and other production personnel, as needed. • Clean and maintain vehicles, equipment, warehouse, and office areas, as needed. Results Expected: • Construction processes are performed according to guidelines and work orders. • Communications to the Construction Department and customers are timely. • Jobs are completed at or beyond customer expectations. • Vehicles, equipment, and facilities remain clean, orderly, and working properly. Responsibilities: • Communicate with Construction department regarding customer needs and successfully meet those needs. • Report any complaints about the performance of services. • Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients • Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding • Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials • Construct building frameworks, including wall studs, floor joists, and doorframes • Help put up, level, and install building framework with the aid of large pulleys and cranes • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures • Provide personnel availability for response to emergency services as required by SERVPRO® response commitment. Qualifications: • Effective oral communication • Experience in cleaning/restoration preferred • High school diploma/GED preferred • Ability to travel locally and out of state as necessary • Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law Physical and Work Environment Requirements: • Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance • Exposure to chemicals • Walking and standing for long periods of time, driving, sitting, climbing, • Ability to climb ladders and work at ceiling heights • Ability to work in tight spaces (e.g., crawls spaces under buildings) • Ability to use complex tools for a variety of jobs in a safe manner • Repetitive pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying objects All employees of a SERVPRO® Franchise are hired by, employed by, and under the sole supervision and control of an independently owned and operated SERVPRO® Franchise. Construction Technician (Entry-level)

What You'll Do No experience necessary, paid training is provided, and we pay your certification fees! • **Starting pay of $20 per hour*** ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Christiansburg team and advance in a dynamic work environment. No prior experience is needed, as you'll work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn to safely perform a variety of tasks. Responsibilities • Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials, including soils, aggregates, and concrete on construction materials testing project sites; Execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians, staff professionals, and project managers. • Testing Procedures: Conduct routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using various methodologies and testing equipment following industry standards and compliance. • Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspection; May assist with calculations, drafting, and other administrative duties as requested. • Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers; Communicate changing site conditions and additional requested testing to supervisor; Attend project meetings as requested; Assist with organization of field equipment and notify supervisor of broken or missing equipment as needed. • Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing; Document findings with precision in accordance with accepted engineering practices. Construction Inspector

Job Description: Step into Your New Role As a Construction Inspector, you will perform general construction inspection tasks to verify compliance standards codes, and ordinances, zoning regulations, as well as contract plans, specifications, and special provisions. Projects will consist of bridges, roadways, and environmental components to these services. This position is available in the Northern Virginia, Richmond, Lynchburg, Christiansburg, and Hampton Roads areas of VA. Responsibilities: • Inspects and monitors construction sites and the various work activities on these sites to verify adherence to standards, codes, and specifications. • Prepares daily reports documenting inspections and other relevant project information. • Verifies lines and grades of project improvements. • Coordinate and perform field testing of materials associated with inspection as required. • Implement quantity calculations for pay estimates. • Performs analytical calculations such as basic earthwork, grading, profiles, and special staking procedures. • Communicates verbally and in writing with contractor, owner, and project stakeholders as directed.
