Construction Laborer

Brayman Construction Corporation is seeking full-time, year-round Construction Laborers to join our team on projects in the Damascus and Bristol, VA areas. The full-time schedule is typically Monday through Friday and overtime is paid on hours worked over 40 per week. It will be your responsibility to assist with keeping the job site clean and safe. As the title implies, you will be carrying out a variety of physical labor related duties. Construction Laborer Qualifications As a Construction Laborer your job will include a variety of physical labor tasks that will be performed outdoors on an active construction site. A background in heavy civil construction or another similar field is helpful. You must have a willingness to work hard in the outdoors in all kinds of weather and be willing to listen to and follow directions. • Ability to perform laborious tasks and safely operate power tools and equipment. • Strong work ethic is a must. • Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions. • Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change. • Ability to work with a variety of personalities. • Ability to perform basic arithmetic as needed to count and take inventory. Education And Experience • High School diploma or equivalent. • Prior job experience in Construction. • Recent work history. Safety Sensitive Position This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects, and in a heavy manufacturing facility with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor. Preferred Qualifications • Splicing of active and passive equipment • Able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction (such as; pole transfers, maintenance builds, new build, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction) Physical abilities and exposures • Routinely - Climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet, lift/carry 50 lbs, arms above shoulder level, operate vehicle and equipment, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, and walk outdoors for extended periods of time. Set up and maintain safe work areas in all weather conditions.
