We are seeking a skilled Specialty Machine Operator to join our Pole Shop team. In this role, you will set up and operate a wide variety of advanced fabrication equipment while ensuring that all products meet engineering specifications and quality standards. This position is ideal for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on machining experience, and a commitment to safety and precision. What You’ll Do • Set up and operate fabrication equipment, including punch presses, drill presses, press brakes, shears, rollers, lathes, mills, laser machines, and other specialized machinery. • Perform custom and irregular production runs, including setups and machining of parts. • Read and interpret blueprints, operation sheets, and specifications to ensure parts meet engineering and quality standards. • Train and support operators by assigning tasks, demonstrating safe and efficient equipment operation, and providing part samples. • Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances. • Collaborate with management on modifying parts or tooling to improve processes. • Maintain accurate production records, initiate work orders, and address material or equipment issues as needed. • Perform housekeeping, material handling, and inventory duties to support production flow. • Adhere to all plant and department safety procedures. What We’re Looking For • Experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. • Proficiency with measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.). • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. • Leadership skills to train and guide other operators are a plus. Compensation The position has a compensation package inclusive of hourly rate, benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. The hourly rate is $21.68/hour.
