Join our team as a CNC Swiss Machinist Set-Up Operator on the 2nd shift, working from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC Swiss-style lathes to manufacture high-precision components that meet engineering specifications and quality standards. Your attention to detail and technical skills will be crucial for interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate tooling, and monitoring machining processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: • Effectively set up and operate Swiss Turning machines (Citizen L20, A20, A32, M32, M32Y). • Interpret blueprints, operation sheets, and work instructions to complete machining operations for quality part production. • Verify that all materials meet specifications by obtaining bar stock or materials from the staging area. • Conduct complex set-ups for yourself and assist others as necessary. • Adjust machinery as needed, obtain and manage tooling, gauges, and inserts, and edit programs to facilitate effective operations. • Collaborate with other operators or set-up operators to resolve production issues and assist with training. • Ensure adherence to quality standards for all manufactured parts through rigorous inspection processes. • Conduct visual inspections and actual dimensional verification using measurement tools, as per department guidelines. • Replace worn or damaged tooling to maintain efficient operations. • Record actual part counts and performance data both before and after job completion. • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, keeping fluid levels optimal. • Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment, returning excess materials appropriately. • Accurately document completed work in the database and manage all scrap reporting. • Notify leads or supervisors of any material shortages or production issues. • Pack and wash/preserve parts as needed. • Engage in other machining and assembly tasks as required. • Contribute to other related duties as needed and interact positively with associates from all departments. Qualifications: • High School diploma or equivalent; technical school training is a plus. • A minimum of 3 years of set-up experience in a CNC machining environment is required. • Experience with aerospace products and/or close tolerance parts is highly desirable. • Familiarity with Fanuc and/or Mitsubishi Controls is essential. • Proficiency in setting and changing tools is required. • Ability to utilize standard gauges and inspection techniques. • Experience with SPC, inspection documentation, and problem-solving methods is a plus. • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills are necessary. • Must be able to read and comprehend operation sheets, blueprints, and specifications. • Ability to understand and work with CNC programs is required. • Five or more years of increasingly diverse machine shop or CNC machining experience.
