Are you ready to help us make the future? Under minimal direction, this senior level position will have strong proficiency in setup and running of manual equipment. Sets up and operates a variety of grinding machines to perform quantity production grinding. Includes grinding compound angles, internal and external spherical radii, threads, contours and long exact tapers on products, parts and assemblies or tools. Will work on more complex activities independently. Uses expertise to develop work practices and procedures. May train and mentor less experienced machinists on work practices and Honeywell standards. May direct and inspect the work of junior machinists. May be considered to be a subject matter expert and may be responsible for leading a team of machinists. Under minimal supervision, identifies areas for product or system improvements and proposes procedure and process changes. Works on assignments that are complex in nature and where judgment and decision making is required. Problems are complex and may be both operational and administrative in nature requiring analysis and innovation to solve. Responsibilities • Operate assigned equipment. • Participate in continuous improvement activities. • Support the Honeywell Operating System • Maintain work area for operation and cleanliness • Comply with all safety rules. • Record and report production data. • Analyze data and production reports • Set up and change over equipment • May train and mentor less experienced machinists. U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status. MUST HAVE • High School Diploma or GED • 5+ years of experience in machining • Experience editing G code programs • Proficient in reading blueprints, drawings, tools, and gauges. • Proficiency in GD&T. WE VALUE • Associates Degree in a technical discipline such as electronics, electro-mechanical, or related area preferred. • OJT or outside training such as trade schools, cross training, job shadowing. • Expert in fabrication equipment operation, assembly and general manufacturing. • Expert and proficient knowledge in CNC type machine proficiency. Expert in department regulations and requirements for products, proficient math and computer skills. • Greenbelt Certification at manager's discretion.
