Machinist - Level 3

As a Machinist Level 3 here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines to produce precision parts for aerospace applications. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of the parts produced, contributing to the overall success of our aerospace business. You will report directly to our Production Supervisor and you'll work out of our Urbana, OH location. In this role, you will impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our manufacturing processes, contributing to the timely delivery of high-quality aerospace components. You will work with a team of skilled machinists and engineers to meet production targets and maintain the highest standards of quality. The role Are you a skilled CNC Machinist with a passion for precision, problem-solving, and hands-on work? Join our Advanced Manufacturing team at IPL Schoeller and play a key role in crafting high-quality tools and components that drive our production success. What You’ll Do As a CNC Machinist, you’ll be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC and manual machines, performing light fabrication, and ensuring tooling is maintained to the highest standards. Your day-to-day will include: Machine Programming & Operation • Program parts using Mastercam for CNC mills and lathes. • Set up and operate CNC and manual machines with precision. • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance. Tooling & Fabrication • Operate grinders (surface and O.D.) and assist in tool selection. • Troubleshoot tooling issues and evaluate performance. • Make decisions on tolerances and fits based on part functionality. • Design and fabricate custom parts and inspection gauges. • Reverse engineer and fabricate one-off parts as needed. Quality & Inspection • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools. • Create part prints and inspection techniques for new products. Maintenance & Troubleshooting • Perform preventative maintenance on machines. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. • Troubleshoot and repair broken parts and equipment. What You Bring • Experience with CNC programming and setup (Mastercam preferred). • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. • Excellent time management and attention to detail. • Prior toolmaking or mold making experience is a plus. • Completion of a toolmaker apprenticeship is preferred.
