L3 Machinist

Job Title: Machine OperatorJob DescriptionThe machine shop is responsible for metal cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring parts to the control plan (blueprint and instruction) specification. Once finished, the product goes to final quality inspection. The LV III machinist's role involves staging parts using a forklift and pallet jack, loading the machine with raw material, operating CNC machines, deburring parts, cutting plugs using air-powered tools, offloading machines with finished parts, and performing general helper duties around the machine shop. Shifts available are: 1st (7AM-3PM M-F), 2nd (3PM-11PM M-F), 3rd (11PM-7AM Sun-TR), 1st AWS (6AM-6PM F, Sa, Sun), and 3rd AWS (6PM-6AM F, Sat, Sun). Production is currently scheduled to work every other Saturday for most of 2025. The facility is temperature-controlled, with a relaxed dress code allowing sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, work pants, and jeans; leggings and sweatpants are not allowed. The environment is clean and safe, with minimal debris. PPE such as steel or composite toe shoes, earplugs, and protective glasses is required. The facility has strict policies for cell phone use and listening devices, and thorough training for new employees regarding safety requirements.
