Work Schedule and Other Information Brief Description Under broad guidance, the Machinist is responsible for performing primarily conventional machine shop work at the journeyman level. This position requires self-motivation and working in a team-oriented environment to support departments throughout HRSD. Detailed Description Job Requirements Education Required • High school diploma or GED Desired • Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent technical training in a related field. Experience Required • Entry Level: Preference is given to candidates with experience in mechanical maintenance work • Fully Qualified: Completion of an on-the-job portion of the Machinist Apprenticeship Program, or qualified Machinist journeyman certification, or at least six years of experience in the inside machinist trade. Desired • Experience in a variety of machine shop environments • 5 plus years’ experience within the wastewater and utility industry. • Knowledge of computers and experience with basic MS Office programs i.e.: Word, Excel, & Outlook. • Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in repairing and altering pumps, and various equipment used within operations. Conventional Machinist

Conventional Machinist As a Conventional Machinist you will be performing moderately complex assignments in support of our repair and maintenance of OEM equipment. Cnc Machine Operator 1st Or 2nd Shift

Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating both conventional and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) grinders and machinery. This role involves operating equipment that is either computer-controlled or mechanical, installing this equipment, and performing periodic tests and repairs to ensure optimal functionality. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with a strong aptitude for both computers and mechanical systems. Responsibilities • Inspect parts visually before running machines to ensure all parts are free from defects and meet quality standards. • Set up machines according to work instructions, ensuring all settings are correct. • Make minor adjustments to programs to improve performance or address issues. • Set up gauge heads for high tolerance sizing and calibrate them to measure parts with high precision. • Inspect parts per process sheet to ensure they meet specified requirements. • Adjust machines to ensure accuracy and quality of output. • Dress grinding wheels and change diamonds when needed to maintain functionality. • Deburr completed parts to ensure they meet quality standards. • Work with tight tolerances requiring digital micrometers and dial indicators. • Perform daily preventative maintenance to keep machines in good working order. • Utilize micrometers, calipers, and various gauges to ensure parts meet specifications. Essential Skills • 2 years of experience operating CNC Machining equipment. • Experience with pneumatic and manual hand tools. • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and email. Additional Skills & Qualifications • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED). • Mechanical aptitude and ability to set up and inspect machines. • Proficiency in machine operation, inspection, and general production.
