CNC Lathe Machinist

We are looking for CNC Lathe Machinists to join our 1st and 2nd shifts in Santa Clara, CA. CNC Lathe Machinist Responsibilities: • Reviews work orders, drawings, engineering plans, materials, specifications, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters to run parts according to customer blueprints and instructions • Ability to read and interpret CNC programs to maintain close tolerances (within +/- .0001) • Sets up lathe production equipment for junior CNC Lathe Machinists and conducts tests, analyses, and calibrates components • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut • Enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media according to established company policy, safety procedures, and vendor standards • Installs, maintains, repairs, rebuilds, and operates a variety of lathe machining tools Preferred Qualifications: • High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent • Experience in a precision machine shop environment • Experience on CNC Mill equipment performing set-up and program prove-outs • Must interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) • At least 6 months of experience in machine tool operation or 6 months machining training, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training Preferred Skills: • Training in basic shop and measurement math, including linear measurement, metrics, algebra and geometry • Familiarity with ISO documentation and processes is a big plus Pay: • Competitive pay based on experience • Employees on the 2nd shift receive an addition 10% differential towards their pay • 10% differential = Hourly Pay X .10 • Eligible for Overtime • Opportunity for a one-time retention bonus after a set number of completed regular work hours Benefits: • Health Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision • Life and Disability: Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Long Term Disability • 401K Retirement Plan (3% company match) About us: A Silicon Valley leader in manufacturing and assemblies, Calmax Technology, Inc. manufactures precision machined parts and provides turnkey assembly to Fortune 500 customers across technology, automotive, aerospace, semiconductor, and medical industries. Responsibilities Keysight’s Semiconductor Infrastructure Solutions (SIS) has an opening for a Prototype Model Maker/NPI CNC Milling Machinist. As a Model Maker, your job is to work in our model shop to provide prototype parts, custom tooling as well as other parts, to both R&D and Order Fulfillment customers. The selected candidate must be able to produce parts which meet customer’s requirements and specifications, as well as working as a team with engineering to identify DFM opportunities. Requires ability to quickly produce prototypes from a “napkin sketch” design, all the way to a fully annotated 3D model with 2D drawing. • Ability to setup and program CNC milling machines as well as operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, etc. • Exposure and familiarity working with CAD packages such as Siemens NX and CAM packages such as Mastercam. • Effective and safe use of Model Shop equipment and materials to fabricate components, prototypes, fixtures, etc., from verbal instructions, 2D sketch/drawing, and/or 3D solid model. • Work with complex, tight tolerance parts (better than .0003”) • Experience and knowledge in secondary operations such as deburring, polishing, heat-treating, etc. • Experience working with various materials (aluminum, steel, brass, plastics including peek, delrin, polycarbonate) • Experience working with simple sheet metal parts preferred • Ability to read and interpret drawings and files, including GD&T proficiency • Capable of standing at a machine for extended periods of time • Capable of safely lifting 40 lbs • Ability to use computers and manufacturing software Qualifications • Journeyman with a minimum of 8 years sustained experience in directly related positions and activities.
