Position Summary Finish edges of parts to specified tolerances for high end yacht interiors. Essential Job Functions · Fair parts into correct shape and size as per specifications. · Apply edgebanding to plywood using various methods and adhesives. · Apply dowels to cabinet parts. · Wear appropriate PPE including hearing protection. · Move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. · Repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation. · Frequent standing, bending, lifting and stooping. Additional Job Functions · Maintain clean work area. · Follow all Westport LLC policies and safety rules. · Maintain excellent attendance record. · Expected to work overtime and flexible hours as needed to meet production schedules and departmental needs. Requirements · Basic math, reading and communication skills. · Ability to follow verbal, written and pictorial instructions including shop drawings. · Function as a part of an effective team. · Ability to read a tape measurer and caliper to1/32”. Other Preferred Skills/Abilities · General woodworking skills including the use of table saws, chop saws, hand routers and clamping systems. · Previous experience with edgebanding and doweling machines. Working Conditions Work is performed in an indoor, climate-controlled production environment for the most part. Noise levels are high.
