About The Position Sound Precision & Fabrication is currently seeking a qualified full-time CNC Machinist to join and grow with our team in Tumwater, WA! This position is perfect for individuals seeking to expand their skills and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of the manufacturing process, from deburring to planning and scheduling. The CNC Machinist will work with a variety of machines, particularly lathes and mill-turns, to produce parts made to blueprint specifications. The CNC Machinist will also be responsible for safe setup, monitoring, and maintenance of equipment as needed. The ideal candidate has exceptional attention to detail, experience with CNC Machining, the ability to work independently, and the drive to learn and grow in a small shop environment. Shift: Day shift: 7:00am-3:30pm Mon-Fri, full-time on-site in Tumwater, WA. Responsibilities • Clean and deburr machined parts during post-manufacturing processing • Independently set up and operate CNC machines to perform precision machining operations while following appropriate shop safety policies • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements • Follow routing steps to select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for each job • Monitor CNC machine operations to ensure safe operation, quality, and efficiency and make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain proper dimensions and tolerances • Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, and calipers • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the CNC machining process Required Qualifications • At least 2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment • Proficiency in G and M codes and CNC machine operation • Ability to adhere to SPF’s safety policies and wear appropriate personal protective equipment while performing relevant tasks in machine shop areas • Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of manufacturing accuracy • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot CNC machine issues independently and collaboratively • Ability and dexterity to perform repetitive fine-motor tasks such as deburring and inspection of small components • Ability to meet physical demands of a typical machine shop environment, including: lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50lbs, standing and sitting for extended periods of time, and tolerance for machine noise Preferred Qualifications • Experience setting up and operating CNC Haas Lathes, Vertical Mills, and/or Okuma Mill-Turns • Demonstrated experience in CAD/CAM programming • Desire to learn and gain skills in different aspects of CNC machine shop management, such as inventory management, machine planning and scheduling, customer relationship management, sales, and more Compensation & Benefits • Salary ranges from $22 - $35 per hour, final compensation depending on skills and experience • Paid time off, including vacation, sick, and paid holidays • Flexible and collaborative work environment • Significant opportunities for personalized growth and career advancement

CNC Machinist/Operator

Mega Machine Shop Inc. is a 22,000 square foot, full-service machining and fabrication facility. Our capabilities range from equipment repair, CNC Turning, to 5-axis Milling; Prototype to Production.
