Manual Machinist

Machinist – Conventional & Manual Lathes and Mills Skilled Machinist needed for local shop. This position requires experience operating manual and conventional lathes and mills to fabricate and repair precision components for hydraulic and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to producing high-quality work. Key Responsibilities: · Set up and operate manual lathes and mills to machine parts to exact specifications. · Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine machining requirements. · Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators. · Machine, modify, and repair parts for hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and other mechanical components. · Select the appropriate tools, cutting speeds, and feeds for various materials. · Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality control standards. · Maintain and troubleshoot machines to ensure optimal performance. · Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace. · Work closely with engineers and other team members to ensure accurate machining and efficient workflow. Qualifications: · Proven experience as a Machinist, preferably in a hydraulics or industrial machine shop setting. · Strong knowledge of manual lathes, mills, cutting tools, and machining techniques. · Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). · Experience machining hydraulic components is a plus. · Proficiency with precision measuring tools and quality inspection methods. · Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. · Ability to lift moderate weights and stand for extended periods. · High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship is preferred. Work Environment: · Industrial/manufacturing setting with exposure to metalworking tools, lubricants, and machine noise. · PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required per safety standards. Skilled Fabricator: Skilled Fabricator with experience in scarfing and dual shield welding to join our repair shop team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication, welding, and repair work, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: · Perform scarfing and dual shield welding on various metal components. · Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications. · Fabricate, modify, and repair metal parts and structures. · Use hand and power tools, welding equipment, and cutting torches safely and efficiently. · Inspect completed work to ensure quality and adherence to specifications. · Maintain a clean and organized work area. · Follow all safety procedures and shop regulations. Requirements: · Proven experience as a Fabricator, with expertise in scarfing and dual shield welding. · Ability to work in a repair shop environment, handling various metal components. · Proficiency with welding equipment, hand tools, and fabrication machinery. · Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. · Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor as needed. · Understanding safety protocols and best practices. CNC Operator

Overview: Program, set up and operate CNC machines and machining centers to efficiently produce components that meet specific requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Production of repeat parts: • Review the engineering drawing to verify that the set-up sheet and program apply to the current revision level. • Set up and operate CNC machine centers in accordance with established Set Up Sheets on file for production parts. • Verify that parts produced comply with specified requirements through first part inspection and routine production inspections as required. • Where appropriate, offer suggestions for changes to established Set Up Sheets that will improve the quality of the parts or reduce the time required to produce them. Where no Set Up Sheet exists (one-off and R & D parts): • Examine input information (engineering drawings, sketches, sample parts) to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished part, sequence of operations and setup requirements. • Create a program and setup sheet. • Select, align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and material to ensure the work is properly positioned and securely held. • Calculate and set controls to regulate factors such as speed, feed rate, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut. • Start and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions and any process errors that would produce unacceptable (out of tolerance) parts. Where machine or process issues arise, take appropriate corrective action. • Confer with engineering and/or production personnel to resolve manufacturing or assembly issues. • Verify, through a systematic inspection that the finished part conforms to specified requirements. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: AA degree in Machining Technology, or three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
