Job Overview: We are looking for skilled and motivated individuals to join our production team as Machine Operators in our cannabis facility. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating and maintaining machinery used in the processing and packaging of cannabis products. Key Responsibilities: • Operate and Monitor Equipment: Safely operate machines and equipment used for the extraction, processing, and packaging of cannabis products. • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments to equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. • Quality Control: Conduct quality checks throughout the production process, ensuring products meet specifications and industry standards. • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery, handling raw materials, and maintaining a clean workspace. • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production counts, maintenance schedules, and quality checks. • Inventory Management: Ensure that production materials are available for operations and help manage inventory levels to avoid disruptions. • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including supervisors, quality control staff, and maintenance teams, to ensure seamless production flow. • Cleaning and Sanitation: Regularly clean and sanitize machines and work areas according to company policies and industry hygiene standards. • Troubleshooting: Identify and address machine malfunctions, ensuring minimal disruption to the production process. Required Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machine operation or a related field is a plus. • Previous experience operating industrial machines, preferably in a cannabis or regulated manufacturing environment is a plus • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on machinery. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. • Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain accurate records. • Basic understanding of cannabis products and industry regulations (or willingness to learn). Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds. • Ability to perform tasks that require manual dexterity and sustained attention. • Must be able to work in and out of climate-controlled environments. Additional Requirements • Must be 21 years of age or older to apply • Must be able to work overtime as needed, including short-notice requests in the evenings or on weekends. • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in a cannabis manufacturing facility or similar regulated industry. • Basic mechanical knowledge • Understanding of cannabis processing and packaging workflows. Responsibilities Must be a subject matter expert in the following functions/activities (perform correctly and without assistance): • Interpret complicated blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications. • Determine the sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup. • Select, mount, and align various specialized machine attachments and standard or improvised tooling. • Make necessary and correct machine adjustments to improper machine functioning or cutting action. • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as guides. • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth/angle of cut. • Accurately monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures. • Use a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments. • Understand materials and applications as required. • Solve problems relative to the work-holding arrangement, unusual materials, machine setting, tools, product specifications, and fabrication methods for the production process. • Align and fasten work using standard fixtures and established methods. • Install and adjust cutting tools consistent with the type and size of material being machined. • Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts, per documentation. • Inspect parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as gages, calipers, micrometers, and comparators. • Visually inspect parts for burrs or damage machined surfaces. • Maintain equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability specific to requirements. • Implement lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement. • Effectively apply lean concepts and tools in the work area. • Observe all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, and maintain a clean and orderly work area. Adjunct Machine Trades Instructor

At a Glance! Lower Columbia College is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled professional to join the team as an adjunct/part-time instructor in the Machine Trades program. LCC’s degree and certificate options provide graduates with a solid foundation of manual and CNC (computer numerical control) processes to prepare graduates to enter the workforce as machinists, millwrights, machine operators, programmers and/or other closely related fields. This position is responsible for teaching courses including, but not limited to Machine Shop I-III, CNC Machining Center Fundamentals, Turning, Milling and Advanced CNC. Instruction ranges from entry-level to advanced courses in machining and tool operation including safe use of hand tools, saws, grinders, drill presses, engine lathes, and vertical milling machines to more advanced projects focused on basic geometry, hole-making, turning, facing, boring, and precision measurement, and overall developing essential skills in safety and machine operation. Courses are primarily delivered in person but utilize online learning resources. Training is available on related learning management systems. We are currently accepting applications on an on-going basis but have a need effective fall quarter (September) 2025 with options that may include day or evening instruction.
