Tool Maintenance Technician - CNC Programmer

DEPARTMENT: Engineering Solutions REPORTS TO: Toolroom Manager POSITION DESCRIPTION: Setup and run CNC machines to produce, repair or modify injection molding components. Jobs range from small production runs (100 pieces or fewer) to larger individual components. Mazak and Mazatrol programming experience a plus. The programmer will run jobs start to finish independently, from initial blueprint and rough stock to finished component ready for installation. Reading blueprints and holding tolerances of .0005in required. Programmer is responsible for fixturing workpieces, selecting all tooling, programming all operations and recording all critical dimensions. Using traditional measurement tools such as micrometers, vernier calipers, dial test indicators and bore micrometers and reading blueprints to produce parts from rough stock to finish, including all operations as necessary (hand tapping, hand polishing, etc). This position will also use manual machines such as knee mills, shop lathes or surface grinders to complete secondary operations as necessary.
