Job Description Summary In the Machinist role, employees will set up and operate a variety of manual and numerically controlled machine tools. Job Description Essential Responsibilities • Work from drawings, sketches, and other instructions to perform machining operations such as mill, turn, face, bore, groove, contour, dovetail, drill, tap, etc. to precise electrical and mechanical tolerances Qualifications/Requirements • Associate's Degree in a Machining discipline and a minimum of 1 year general machine shop experience in set-up and operation of a variety of manual and CNC machines: including mills, drills, grinders, broaches, turret lathes, horizontal bore, EDM, engine lathes, etc. OR • High School Diploma/GED with a Machining certification from an accredited university with courses that cover: Mathematics, CNC Milling, CNC Lathes, Print Reading, Machine Tooling, G&M code, FANUC controls, and hands on machine application (i.e. capstone, shop hours) and a minimum of 1 year general machine shop experience in set-up and operation of a variety of manual and CNC machines: including mills, drills, grinders, broaches, turret lathes, horizontal bore, EDM, engine lathes, etc. OR • High School Diploma / GED with a Journeyman's card with completion of a Machining apprentice program and a minimum of 1 year general machine shop experience in set-up and operation of a variety of manual and CNC machines: including mills, drills, grinders, broaches, turret lathes, horizontal bore, EDM, engine lathes, etc. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: • Ability, with or without accommodation, to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds • Ability and willingness to work overtime as required • Ability and willingness to work occasional weekend shifts • Ability and willingness to wear personal protective equipment, for example safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoes • Ability and willingness to take a pre-employment test and submit to technical interview • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. This position is also eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases and COLA increases.
