Job description General Description: The Machine Operator position will mainly learn one specialized machine, and then branch out to learn other machines, in an effort to create depth in departments. General Competencies: • Ethical Conduct • Communication • Proficiency • Results Driven • Initiative Job Functions: • Pull, Cut, and measure materials for assigned jobs as defined on Bills of Materials. • Load Rolled Material onto machine. • Identify Cloth and Buffing Wheel types • Visually inspect parts that are completed off press or Jackson lathe for defects • Operate various machines, which mold or punch out parts for buff centers. • Form and spot weld rims and weld assembled cartridge buffs. • Assist with unloading cargo trucks with rolls of material. • Use manual and assisted lifting devices as necessary. Work Environment • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Physical Demands • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
