Job description General Description: The Machine Operator position will mainly learn one specialized machine, and then branch out to learn other machines, in an effort to create depth in departments. General Competencies: • Ethical Conduct • Communication • Proficiency • Results Driven • Initiative Job Functions: • Pull, Cut, and measure materials for assigned jobs as defined on Bills of Materials. • Load Rolled Material onto machine. • Identify Cloth and Buffing Wheel types • Visually inspect parts that are completed off press or Jackson lathe for defects • Operate various machines, which mold or punch out parts for buff centers. • Form and spot weld rims and weld assembled cartridge buffs. • Assist with unloading cargo trucks with rolls of material. • Use manual and assisted lifting devices as necessary. Work Environment • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
