Tooling Maintenance Lead (Principal Machinist)

JOB SUMMARY Work independently and follow the overall work schedule, as determined by the department leader. Clean molds and complete mold changeovers to meet schedule requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Follow & update IQMS RT Scheduler mold requirements, as determined by the planner • Green-tag readied molds; move to staging area in molding department • Disassemble & clean molds; inspect for problems. • Install changeover parts, as required • Take measurements to determine wear & proper sizes of pins, bushings, and hold dimensions • Keep records up to date, including mold tagging system. • Other duties as assigned • Practice good housekeeping and appropriate measures to prevent pollution or other negative impacts on the environment • Use had power tools, Bridgeport’s, Grinders and lathes • Able to train Machinist III • Able to use the Ice Blaster as required • Able to supervise and lean team workload • Able to work with outside vendors and create requisitions • Able to work with the molding team, press side. • Able to diagnose tooling/molding issues EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • High School diploma or equivalent • Minimum 8 years of experience working with industrial machinery and/or automotive in a mechanical aspect • Experience working with injection molds, preferred • Experience with forklift and pallet jack operation, preferred SKILLS & ABILITIES • Math and reading comprehension • Ability to read and understand work instructions • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English • Mechanical aptitude • Ability to read and understand micrometers and calibers, preferred • Able to read 2D and 3D CAD WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS Manufacturing environment. CNC Machine Operator 3 (Machine Shop) 2nd Shift

Job Description Summary In this challenging position you will benefit from the guidance of experienced operators as you operate CNC equipment including various types and sizes of single spindle or multiple spindles on a variety of operations (drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, spot facing, countersinking, etc.). Job Description Basic Qualifications • High School Education or GED equivalency. • 3 years machine shop experience • Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. - dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.) as required within department. • Understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation • Prior working knowledge of machine shop operations Essential Functions & Responsibilities: • Set up and operate CNC equipment • Operate any type and size of single spindle or multiple spindle on a variety of operations (drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, spot facing, countersinking, etc.) • Use all tools, jigs, fixtures, and gages necessary to perform operations • May set up and operate lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, and hand tools to fabricate parts and tools • Check for proper tooling, sharpness, & alignment • Work with close tolerances and fine finishes • Perform tool offset and load parts • Operate multiple machines simultaneously • Perform duties on complex prototypes or first-time builds. • Compliantly troubleshoots tools, fixtures, and equipment as necessary • Perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements • Frequent interaction with internal and/or external customers and support functions (i.e. – Planners, Engineering) outside of home department. • Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures • Participate in and lead team initiatives. • Reports problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach. • Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products. • Understands and abides by the GE Leadership behaviors. • Other duties as required.
