Manual Machinist Overview This position is primarily responsible for the set-up/ operation of various types of machine shop equipment inclusive of, but not limited to, manual and CNC Engine Lathes, Bridgeports and Grinders to produce complex tools, fixtures and diversified products in a safe, effective/efficient manner to meet operational requirements. This expertise will be applied in a proactive manner utilizing best practices when conducting documentation review, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, equipment set-up/operation and component inspection related activities. The incumbent must be an individual who can multi-task and perform various machine shop related activities which are to be conducted in a manner that complies with company requirements (i.e., regulatory, safety, administrative, etc.). This position requires effective interaction with a broad spectrum of people within the organization to successfully support operations and the corporate strategic vision. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: • 5+ years of related experience involving set-up/operation of precision (high tolerance), machine shop equipment (Aerospace mfg. environment preferred) • High School/(GED) Diploma or Vocational/Technical school equivalent • Self-motivated individual who possesses the ability to analyze, organize, plan, multi-task and achieve results through effective interaction with others • Possess math skills required to effectively and efficiently read, interpret documents (i.e., blueprints/technical drawings, operation/tool/set-up sheets, procedures, ECN's, routers, etc.).
