Davalyn Corporation has been retained to identify a skilled CNC Setup Technician for one of our long-standing clients—a well-established and growing precision manufacturing company located in Northern New Jersey. Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced CNC Setup Technician with 5–10 years of hands-on CNC programming and setup experience in precision machining environments. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of CNC lathe and milling operations, and be highly skilled in setting up CNC machine tools, specifically Mori Seiki or Star Swiss-type machines. Experience with Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM software is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities: • Set up and operate CNC machine tools, including Swiss-type lathes, CNC mills, and multi-axis machining centers • Program and optimize G-code/M-code for efficient CNC machining operations • Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications • Conduct tooling setup, changeovers, and machine offsets to ensure accuracy • Maintain tight tolerances and perform first article inspections on high-precision parts • Troubleshoot setup issues and recommend process improvements to reduce cycle time and scrap • Collaborate with engineering and production teams on new jobs and prototype machining • Support both short-run and production machining in a fast-paced manufacturing environment • Maintain work area cleanliness and comply with all safety and quality standards Qualifications: • 5–10 years of experience in CNC setup, programming, and operation • Hands-on experience with Mori Seiki, Star, or similar machine tool brands • Strong knowledge of CNC turning, milling, and Swiss-type machining • Proficiency with Mastercam or equivalent CAM software • Familiarity with ISO-certified manufacturing environments is a plus • Ability to work from complex prints and specifications using precision measuring instruments • Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, and machining best practices • Supervisory experience in a CNC environment highly desirable Compensation & Benefits: • Competitive salary range of $52,000 – $77,000, based on experience • Full benefits package including health, dental, 401(k), and paid time off • The company offers a stock equity program • Career advancement opportunities within a growing, team-focused machine shop Why Join?
