Overview We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce high-precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, and the use of precision measuring instruments. The CNC Machinist will play a vital part in ensuring quality and efficiency in our production operations, working with advanced equipment such as CNC lathes and milling machines, often utilizing Fanuc controls. Candidates with experience in CAD/CAM programming, GD&T, and various machining techniques are highly preferred. Responsibilities • Set up and operate CNC machinery including lathes and milling machines to produce parts according to specifications. • Program CNC equipment using CAM software and verify programs through simulation before implementation. • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing. • Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines, and other precision instruments to verify dimensions. • Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime. • Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for machining operations. • Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain a clean work environment. • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to optimize manufacturing processes. • Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools as needed for assembly or repairs. Requirements • Proven experience with CNC programming and operation, particularly with Fanuc controls. • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawings. • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or general CAD/CAM programming skills. • Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus. • Mechanical knowledge related to plastics injection molding, welding, tooling setup, and assembly processes. • Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines accurately. • Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations in machining tasks. • Experience working with CNC lathe and CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment. • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is advantageous. • Ability to operate forklifts and power tools safely when required. • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
