Manual Machinist (Direct Hire)

We're seeking a talented and experienced Manual Machinist to join a manufacturing facility in Jacksonville, TX. In this vital role, you'll be instrumental in fabricating a wide range of metallic and non-metallic parts, utilizing both conventional and advanced machining equipment. • This is a Direct Hire Position* • Position is in Jacksonville, TX* What You'll Do: • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. • Measure, mark and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpieces as guides for subsequent machining as necessary. • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required. • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors. • Start and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust. • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications. • Set up and operate machines on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. • Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines as required. • Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems. • Maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with safety regulations. What You'll Bring: • Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Ability to read and interpret documents and to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as portability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
