Manual Machinist (Days)

Job Title: Manual Machinist (Days) Job Description We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team in servicing and repairing pumps and rotating equipment. You will work in our shop reconditioning pumps based on blueprints and drawings, including split case pumps, overhung pumps, horizontal pumps, and multistage pumps. Must Haves • 5+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist • Proficiency in lathe machining and vertical mill (Bridgeport machine) • Experience with Horizontal Boring Mill (HBM) • Ability to perform line bores on pumps • Strong blueprint reading skills • Experience with pump parts, micrometers, calipers, manual lathe, and manual mill Responsibilities • Recondition pumps from the field based on blueprints and drawings. • Perform line bores on pumps, drilling, facing, and squaring plates. • Work on base plates, internal pump parts, shafts, sleeves, rings, impellers, heads, and casings. • Handle part dimensions ranging from 4 inches to 7 feet, using materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and bronze. • Create serrated finishes for flanges, dial pins, cut diameters on IDs, and mount faces for bearing houses. • Cut keyways using horizontal boring mill. Work Environment You will work in a medium-sized, air-conditioned shop that is currently tight on space but will be moving to a larger facility in 2024 or 2025. The day shift operates Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with two paid breaks and an unpaid lunch. Expect to work 50 to 60 hours per week with occasional Sundays, which are paid at double time. The night shift runs Monday to Friday from 3:30 PM to 2:30 AM, and Saturdays from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, also with two paid breaks and an unpaid lunch. Night shift employees receive a 10% differential. Safety gear, including steel-toed shoes, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses, is required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $44.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. CNC Mill Machinist (Day Shift)

JOB DESCRIPTION: The CNC mill Machinist is responsible for the machining of new and repair part products to print specifications. RESPONSBILITES: • Perform operational functions of CNC machines, maintain proper maintenance of machine equipment • Reading of blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications to determine type and dimensions of stock required. • Observe machine operation to detect malfunction or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as required. • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. • Maintain a safe work environment and keep work area clean and organized. • Conduct all business activities in accordance with company code of conduct, policies and procedures and all applicable legal requirements. • Maintain traceability on all parts. • All other duties as assigned by your manager • This job description is a summary of the primary job scope and should not be assumed as an all-inclusive description* QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Turbine machining is preferred. • 5 years' experience in CNC machining • Ability to apply basic written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, work orders and drawings. • Ability to apply concepts of basic math and basic PC skills. • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate. • Ability to follow directions and procedures.
