CNC Machinist

Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is searching for a CNC Machinist that will be based in our Bossier City, LA plant. In this role, you will operate mechanical or CNC equipment, including milling machines and lathes, to produce metal parts. Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group is comprised of Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities. What You'll Do: • Operate mechanical or CNC equipment, including milling machines and lathes, to produce metal parts • Prepare by checking specifications and blueprints, calculating how to shape the material, and setting equipment controls • Monitor speed and heat of machining equipment • Use blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product • Follow all safety rules and practices • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives • Perform other duties as assigned • Operate HAAS and Mazak CNC lathes and mills What You'll Need: • Certified in CNC or 2 to 5 years of previous equipment operation experience a plus • An understanding of shop math and the ability to read and verify specifications Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws. LOCATION: Onsite - 1509 Hamilton Rd, Bossier City, LA 71111 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Performing necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment. • Operating/monitoring multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops. • Reading and interpreting blueprints and diagrams. • Adjusting machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications in a timely manner. • Communicating with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials. • Housekeeping and sanitation. QUALIFICATIONSATTRIBUTES: • High school diploma/GED required. • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment is required. • Must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Machine Shop. • Must have the ability to follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment. • Must have the ability to read fabrication/welding blueprints, schematics and manuals. • Analytical Skills and high-level attention to detail are both required. • Ability to work within a team and independently. • Physical stamina, strength, and ability to handle heavy equipment are required. • Must be able to multitask.
