Job Title: Machinist - Manual Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Set raw material in the machine. • Adjust tools. • Operate the following machines - Horizontal boring mill, Vertical boring mill, Lathes, Drill presses and Bridgeport knee mills. • Check / refill lubricating fluids periodically. • Perform preventative maintenance on the mill. • Inspect finished product. • Report and correct defects as required. • Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner, avoiding and reporting unsafe practices. • Perform internal quality control of machining procedures. • Setup and perform work based on shop practices and procedures. • Removes shavings as needed. • Must be able to work 1st (0330-1530) or 2nd (1530-0330). Shifts vary between 8-12 hours depending on work load, and are subject to change. • Other duties as assigned. ___________________________________________________________________________ Qualifications: • Knowledge- H.S. diploma or equivalent; or equivalent experience. • Able to work a 12 hour shift when necessary. • Must pass drug screen and hair follicle test. Desired Experience: • At least 2 years of experience operating Vertical Boring Mills/Vertical Turret Lathes. • Machining stainless steels, alloys, and carbon steel. • Worked in a custom fabrication shop. • Operating jib and bridge cranes. • Machining raised face tube sheets a major plus. • Machining weld necks and flanges a major plus. Required skills: • Read and write English language. Able to read and interpret blueprints, scales, micrometers, and depth mics. • Familiar with fabrication and machining prints and tolerances. • Familiar with flatness tolerances. • Able to convert and understand fractions and decimals. Required Tools: • Required Tools- Set of telescoping gauges up to 1-1/4”, 10 or 12 foot tape, 12” adjustable wrench, 6” or 12” scale, center punches, 10, 12, or 14 oz. ball pein hammer, set of allen wrenches, indicator, basic layout (dividers, trammel points, scribe), adequate tool box. • Able to work a 12 hour shift when necessary. • Must pass drug screen and hair follicle test. Working Conditions- Heat, noisy, dusty, cold, chemical exposures, pinching hazards, stand for long periods of time, some bending, stooping, push/pull, twist, squat, lift & climb, requires 50 lb. lifting ability, and exposed to normal shop hazards. Overtime is required when requested by the Machine Shop Foreman, Machine Shop Lead Man or the Machine Shop Manager. Machinist/Welder

Position Summary: Operating lathes, mills, drill and shop equipment. The ability to read and machine to print, and machine from sample part. Detail essential job responsibilities, requirements and key deliverables for the role: • Maintain a clean, safe and professional work area. • Safely operated lathes, mills and shop equipment. • Quickly produce quality parts to close tolerances. • Work with a team of machinist and welders. • Machine steel, aluminum bronze, cast iron. • Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • High School graduation, strong mechanical background. • Willingness to learn. • Excellent machining abilities. • Knowledge of cylinder construction techniques • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and to climb a ladder. • Ability to work with a team.
