Job Title: Manual Machinist Location: Beaumont, TX Job Type: Full-Time Industry: Manufacturing / Engineering Job Summary The Manual Machinist will operate manual lathes, mills, and grinders to produce precision parts according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining practices, be able to read blueprints, and work independently with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities: • Set up and operate manual machines including lathes, mills, drill presses, and surface grinders • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions • Use precision measuring tools to inspect parts and ensure conformance to specifications • Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning • Maintain a clean and safe work environment • Work with various metals including steel, aluminum, and brass • Troubleshoot machining problems and adjust settings as needed • Collaborate with engineering and quality departments to ensure product quality Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or apprenticeship preferred • 3+ years of experience operating manual machines in a machine shop environment • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills • Proficient in the use of micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively • Familiarity with machining safety protocols and procedures • CNC experience is a plus, but not required

Check out our many videos to learn more! http://www.dxpe.com/about-us/careers/ Responsibilities of the First Class Machinist include, but are not limited to: • Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output • Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job • Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping • Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job • Determine and program size of batches, speed of machine etc. • Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues • Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products • Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages Qualifications of the First Class Machinist include, but are not limited to: • Proven experience as Machinist • Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.) • Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements • Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals • Good at math with analytical abilities • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset Additional Information Physical Demand: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Manual Machinist

Description REPORTING RELATIONSHIP & FUNCTIONAL ROLE This person reports directly to the Service Center Supervisor. The service center machinist is a skilled and precise manual machinist who will set up and operate machinery to alter, repair or machine parts, equipment, and tools. The service center machinist will work well under minimal supervision. You must understand how to read mechanical blueprints, perform calculations, calibrate, maintain machinery, and make cuts with precision to create products that meet CFI quality standards. RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES · Responsibilities / Duties: o Read and interpret drawings. o Machine parts on a manual lathe and knee mill to specifications. o Perform quality control inspections. o Conduct maintenance inspections on equipment and make necessary repairs. o Follow instructions per the job traveler, procedures, drawings, and verbal. o Ensure all work meets quality standards, instructions, and specifications. o Regularly cleans, maintains, and repairs machinery and equipment as needed. · Administrative/General: o Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of processes, procedures, and guidelines. o Assist in special projects as assigned by the Service Center Supervisor. o Subject to other duties and/or projects as assigned by CFI Management. Requirements REQUIREMENTS & CONDITIONS · Education: High school diploma or equivalent; higher level of education preferred. · Experience: Three years minimum of manual machining experience required to include but not limited to Lathe and knee mill. · Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: General knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook. Strong knowledge of machining, drawings, and the machinist handbook. The ability to work well alone and with others in stressful situations. o The ability to perform basic math and follow instructions. o Strong analytical skills, precision, and attention to detail. o The ability to organize, maintain, and structure the machine shop. o Be able to turn threads on a manual lathe to specification. · Character Traits: o Takes initiative. o Dependable, organized, and flexible. o Strong interpersonal and communication skills. o Able to manage multiple assignments with strict deadlines. o Must be a team player, look out for the good of the company, have a can-do attitude, and takes ownership in your work. · Physical Requirements: Standing, sitting, climbing, walking, crouching, stooping, twisting, bending and the ability to lift fifty pounds. · Working Conditions/Environment: Shop conditions (no central heat or air condition); occasional outdoor work required; uniforms are supplied.
