CNC Machinist Department: Manufacturing / Production Reports To: Production Supervisor or Machine Shop Lead Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and reliable CNC Machinist with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes in a precision manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and inspecting parts to ensure they meet engineering and quality specifications. Key Responsibilities · Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes according to blueprints, work instructions, and setup sheets. · Load programs and make minor edits to offsets, tool paths, and speeds/feeds as necessary. · Verify part dimensions using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges. · Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and process documentation. · Perform first-article inspections and in-process checks to ensure quality conformance. · Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. · Troubleshoot machining or tooling issues and communicate improvement opportunities to supervision or engineering. · Perform basic preventive maintenance on machines and tooling. · Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality goals. Qualifications · Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience on mills and/or lathes (Haas, Okuma, or similar controls). · Strong understanding of machining principles, feeds/speeds, and tool selection. · Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work on complex drawings with minimal supervision. · Proficient with precision measuring tools and quality inspection methods. · Experience working in high-mix, low-volume or prototype environments preferred. · Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods. · Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
