CNC Machinist/Operator 2nd Shift

We are looking for an experienced, Master CNC Operators who can do set up and run machine for our metal fabricated enclosures on our 2nd Shift, schedule is 4 - 10HR day Mon-Thurs, 2:30pm-1:00am. We are growing and need solid leaders as we build our second shift to full production. If this is you, we would love to talk with you! CNC Operator Responsibilities: • Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc. • Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc. • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines • Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality CNC Operator Requirements: • Proven experience as CNC operator • Can do own setups of jobs. • Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings • Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills • A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach • Ability to stand for 8-10 hour shift. • Ability to lift 10-50 lbs.occasionally throughout the day. • Good communication abilities • High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus • Successfully completed apprenticeship is required • Willing and able to pass a background check and drug screen prior to employment Candidates will be pleased to learn that Electromet Corporation offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes: • Health • Dental (free to employee) • Vision (free to employee) • Short Term Disability • Long Term Disability (free to employee) • 401K • Life Insurance • Paid Time Off (accrual to start with hire) • Paid Holidays Job Type: Full-time Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Employee assistance program • Flexible spending account • Health insurance • Health savings account • Life insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Schedule: • 4x10 • Evening shift • Night shift • Weekends as needed Supplemental Pay: • Overtime pay Shift availability: • Night Shift (Preferred) Ability to Commute: • Hagerstown, MD 21740 (Required) Ability to Relocate: • Hagerstown, MD 21740: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person

Responsibilities Include: • Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, set procedures, control settings and machining methods and sequences. • Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, chop saw, band saw, and a variety of cutting tools and equipment. • Fabricates and shapes parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal, plastics and composites. • Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines. • Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling. • Creates and designs simple fixtures, including machining and clamping fixtures. • Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment • Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend change or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production. • Ability to track parts and jobs. • Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures. • Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions. • Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements. • Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner. • Move equipment and material as necessary. • Maintain accurate records, logs, data sheets, inventory and other documentation required by the Operations Department or Quality Control. • Maintain a work area in neat, orderly, and organized manner. Responsibilities Must be a subject matter expert in the following functions/activities (perform correctly and without assistance): • Interpret complicated blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications. • Determine the sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup. • Select, mount, and align various specialized machine attachments and standard or improvised tooling. • Make necessary and correct machine adjustments to improper machine functioning or cutting action. • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as guides. • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth/angle of cut. • Accurately monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures. • Use a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments. • Understand materials and applications as required. • Solve problems relative to the work-holding arrangement, unusual materials, machine setting, tools, product specifications, and fabrication methods for the production process. • Align and fasten work using standard fixtures and established methods. • Install and adjust cutting tools consistent with the type and size of material being machined. • Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts, per documentation. • Inspect parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as gages, calipers, micrometers, and comparators. • Visually inspect parts for burrs or damage machined surfaces. • Maintain equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability specific to requirements. • Implement lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement. • Effectively apply lean concepts and tools in the work area. • Observe all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
