What You Will Do as CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift - Aerospace Parts • Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to hold tight tolerances (to 0.0005 in). • Load programs, set tools and work offsets, verify first article, and run production. • Read blueprints and GD&T; verify dimensions with micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM support. • Perform in-process inspections, record results, and adjust offsets as needed. • Change tooling, replace inserts, and perform basic program edits in G-code/Fanuc. • Work from travelers, routers, and AS9100-compliant work instructions. • Maintain 5S, safety, and preventive maintenance standards. • Communicate issues, suggest improvements, and support continuous improvement. SUMMARY Ultra-Tech, Inc. is currently taking applications for experienced CNC Machinists. The CNC Machinist will produce machined parts by setting up and operating a CNC machine while maintaining quality, safety standards, records, and equipment. SHIFTS AVAILABLE • 2nd Shift- Monday-Thursday, 4:00pm to 2:30am. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES • Set up, adjust, and operate all the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations. This includes aligning and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto the machine. • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process. • Measure, examine or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometer, calipers, or other measuring instruments. • Document actions by completing required paperwork (Inspection documents, Travelers). Perform minor mechanical and assembly work as needed. • Must possess their own tools and be willing to multitask and cross-train on all machines, as required. • Share expertise and knowledge throughout the machine shop. • Always follow all safety policies and procedures. • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma/GED. • Minimum of 2 years machining experience with advanced knowledge of machining operations and tolerances. • Must understand basic math and geometric tolerances. • Ability to read blueprints, engineering plans, procedure manuals and work instructions. • Ability to lift 50 lbs. • Must have a positive, "can do" attitude and be a customer focused individual. • Motivated, self-starter, must take on new roles and responsibilities as needed. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED WORK HOURSThis is a full-time position with a typical work schedule of 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, 4:00pm to 2:30am, but any overtime hours will be worked on Fridays on an as needed basis.
