Responsibilities: • Operate and set up CNC machines, including those with Fanuc, Haas, and Mitsubishi controls. • Perform setups involving chuck changing, collet changing, tool arrangements, and tool touch-offs. • Read and interpret blueprints, travelers, sketches, and related technical data, including GD&T tolerances. • Conduct first-article and in-process inspections, accurately document inspection data, and maintain precise part counts. • Adjust machine speeds and feeds for turning and milling operations to ensure optimal performance. • Perform daily machine maintenance, including maintaining fluid levels and recognizing and replacing worn cutters and tool bits. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols. While the primary business centers around 300 series stainless steel and higher nickel alloys, the opportunity for working with other alloys will arise. You’ll need to be effective at using measuring devices like calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, and portable surface roughness gages — you know, typical items found in any toolbox. However, due to the sporadic nature of our production requirements, work hours may be increased or decreased throughout the normal workweek to correspond with the man-hour capacity required. The potential for additional overtime hours on Saturday and/or Sunday may be requested or required at times. No overtime is guaranteed. Machining positions require constant bending, kneeling, and stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds with assistance. Visual acuity is required to perform work using close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee may be exposed to environmental factors typical of polishing and grinding.
