CNC Machinist Entry Level

CNC Machinist Entry Level Assist with the setup and operation of manual and CNC equipment under the direction of the Lead Machinist. Learn how to produce parts for final assembly of tabletop packaging systems. • Set up manual and CNC milling/lathe machines and run parts as needed. • Read and understand engineering drawings, CNC programs, and work instructions to ensure proper setup requirements, sequence operations, dimensions, and tolerance levels of finished product. • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers. • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines. • Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work. • Inspect work and perform quality checks to ensure conformance to engineering drawings. • Perform hand finishing including deburring, chamfering, sanding, etc. both manually and/or with pneumatic/electric tools as required. • Maintain established safety practices and cleanliness of the machining area. • Maintain quality tooling by sharpening and replacing worn tools.
