JOB TITLE: CNC Lathe Operator REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor DIRECT REPORTS: None FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the CNC Lathe Operator has previous manufacturing experience, demonstrates the necessary measuring skills to work without routine oversight. Employee demonstrates ability and willingness to be trained to operate multiple pieces of equipment, works well in a team environment, and the ability to touch off tools. By embodying the core values of our company, the CNC Lathe Operator will apply considerable production operations knowledge to perform a broad range of tasks on the production floor. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manufacture products in accordance with engineering drawings • Check product dimensions utilizing proper equipment • Record, as required, all productivity on company system • Clean and maintain machinery according to department and company standards. • Perform other duties as assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. • 3-5 years of operation experience with CNC Lathes. • Ability to set-up a CNC lathe (including work holding, kitting of tools, touching off of tools/establishing offsets, reading of manufacturing drawings, and first article buy-off) on Mazak & FANUC controls. • Set up tool geometry in tool data. • Knowledge in turning inserts/tool holders/feeds and speeds of tooling • Experience with utilizing a pre-setter offline for tool offsets • Experience with quick change tooling • Experience with macro programming and Mastercam or other major programming software • Knowledge of basic measuring tools, calipers, micrometers, comparators and math required • Solid understanding of GD&T with ability to read and interpret drawing requirements WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand and bend for up to ten hours. Machine Packer Pay/Schedule: • Pay starts at $16/hr + 3rd shift premium $1/hr 3rd shift 11pm - 7am; Training is on 1st shift 7am • - 3pm • Schedule: Mon - Fri / Sat required during busy season/based on business needs. Machine Packer Responsibilities & Daily Duties: • Loads paper on to automatic hand-fed orweb envelope folding machines; pack finished product. • Inspects quality of envelopes, labels cartons, reports variances to key personnel. • Checks current production orders/schedules to determine daily production requirements. • May be required to do rework on finished product; Cleans up work area during/end of shift. • Other duties as assigned/required. Machine Packer Physical Requirements & Work Environment:- • Ability to keep up with a high-speed delivery output in a standing position for a full shift. • Mental alertness; Ability to step up/reach overhead/manually feed paper into machine. • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds; Manual dexterity required to grasp objects. • Exposure to arm/wrist fatigue; Exposure to noise, hazardous materials (inks, solvents, glue, etc.). • Must be able to work in hot or cold weather.
