You bring at least 2 years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines — including mills, lathes, and boring equipment. You can read and interpret complex blueprints, machining symbols, and geometric tolerancing. You understand the fundamentals of feeds, speeds, and cutting tools — and can adjust setups to maintain tight tolerances. You’re organized, dependable, and safety-conscious. You’re familiar with stainless steel machining and take pride in clean, accurate work. You’re able to work independently, manage your time well, and support a team-based shop floor. What Will You Do? Setup & Operation – Prepare and operate multi-axis CNC machining centers to perform milling, drilling, boring, tapping, and facing operations. Quality Control – Inspect parts during and after machining using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure quality standards. Programming Support – Interpret CNC programs and assist with troubleshooting or minor edits when needed. Preventative Maintenance – Perform routine oiling, cleaning, and machine upkeep to ensure optimal performance. Team Collaboration – Work closely with engineers, shop supervisors, and fellow machinists to coordinate workflow and resolve issues. Safety & Cleanliness – Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience or an Associate Degree in machining or equivalent trade training. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability. Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications. Stainless steel or exotic metals experience (e.g., AL-6XN, Hastelloy®) preferred. CNC Machining – Set up and operate 3-axis CNC vertical milling centers to complete a wide range of tight-tolerance machining operations. Manual Lathe Operation – Operate manual engine lathes to turn, face, bore, and groove small to medium-sized parts, including large diameter components (24″–50″) using steady rests or tailstocks as needed.
