You bring at least 2 years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines — including mills, lathes, and boring equipment. You can read and interpret complex blueprints, machining symbols, and geometric tolerancing. You understand the fundamentals of feeds, speeds, and cutting tools — and can adjust setups to maintain tight tolerances. You’re organized, dependable, and safety-conscious. You’re familiar with stainless steel machining and take pride in clean, accurate work. You’re able to work independently, manage your time well, and support a team-based shop floor. What Will You Do? Setup & Operation – Prepare and operate multi-axis CNC machining centers to perform milling, drilling, boring, tapping, and facing operations. Quality Control – Inspect parts during and after machining using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure quality standards. Programming Support – Interpret CNC programs and assist with troubleshooting or minor edits when needed. Preventative Maintenance – Perform routine oiling, cleaning, and machine upkeep to ensure optimal performance. Team Collaboration – Work closely with engineers, shop supervisors, and fellow machinists to coordinate workflow and resolve issues. Safety & Cleanliness – Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience or an Associate Degree in machining or equivalent trade training. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability. Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications. Stainless steel or exotic metals experience (e.g., AL-6XN, Hastelloy®) preferred. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift in a production environment with exposure to metal dust and shop noise. Mazak CNC Machines (5-axis experience a plus) Why Join Us? Experience with stainless steels (304/316L), nickel alloys (Inconel, Hastelloy), and large workpieces is a strong plus. What Will You Do? CNC Machining – Set up and operate 3-axis CNC vertical milling centers to complete a wide range of tight-tolerance machining operations. Manual Lathe Operation – Operate manual engine lathes to turn, face, bore, and groove small to medium-sized parts, including large diameter components (24″–50″) using steady rests or tailstocks as needed. Precision Inspection – Inspect all machined parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, etc.) and verify compliance with print specifications. Tooling & Programming – Install and adjust tools, make offset changes, calculate speeds/feeds based on material, and edit programs as needed. Blueprint Review – Recognize and report errors in prints or operation sheets prior to machining. Clean & Maintain – Keep machines clean and lubricated; follow all 5S procedures and documentation. Team Collaboration – Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other machinists to meet project timelines and quality goals. Safety Commitment – Follow all safety protocols and attend all required training sessions to support an injury-free workplace. Qualifications 2+ years’ experience with CNC milling and manual lathe operation OR Associate degree in machining with relevant experience Blueprint reading and GD&T proficiency G-code editing experience Experience with stainless steel and nickel alloys is a plus Mastercam experience is a plus Why Join Us?
