Precision Machining Technician

A locally owned shop in the Jamestown area is seeking skilled Precision Machining Technicians to join their manufacturing team! (depending on experience level) • 40-45hrs/week • 6:00AM-3:00PM Mon-Thu & 6:00AM-12:00PM Fri (If working OT, it could extend to 3:00PM on Fri or 6:00AM-12:00PM Sat) Current openings in: 1. EDM Sinker Machine • Should have at least 2-3 years of experience and be competent with EDM processes, blueprint reading, machining principles and be able to troubleshoot and make precise measurements. 2. Double Roll Operator • Should have previous experience with heavy equipment, ability to read blueprints and an understanding of machine functions and principles. 3. CNC Swiss Lathe & CNC Lathe Operator • Should have prior experience in metalworking and/or manufacturing, be competent with blueprint reading, the use of measuring tools, and machining principles. Responsibilities include: • Set up of machines • Programming (EDM & CNC) • Finish tight tolerance machining Requirements to be successful in these roles: • High School Diploma or higher • Know how to read blueprints • Good math skills - basic understanding of Trigonometry is a plus • Competent and efficient use of machinist tools like micrometers, dial indicators, microscopes, visual comparators, etc. • Detail-oriented with ability to inspect work • Good vision for reading small print, detecting surface flaws, etc. • Good hand dexterity • Must be a confident, reliable worker who is a good listener, works well with others and is willing to learn • Note - candidates will be loaned tools at first but must purchase certain tools for personal everyday use; the company does have a payroll deduction plan for full-time employees to take advantage of #IND456 Job Types: Full-time, Temporary Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Schedule: • Day shift • Monday to Friday Application Question(s): • What position are you applying for and how much experience do you offer related to the position? Machine Operator

The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and making adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications. Machinist

Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and measuring instruments. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools, applying knowledge of shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machine. • Work from blue prints to produce projects according to specifications. • Select the appropriate tools and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work. • Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as CNC Mills/Lathes, Drill Press, Sanders, Grinders, and other support equipment • Set up, adjust, and operate all the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations. • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers, depth micrometers, inside diameter gauges, and outside diameter gauges. • Read and interpret blueprints to insure parts are being made according to Specifications. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Associates must be able to successfully work independently and also as a team member. A good attendance history (reliability) and a demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and skills is a must. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
