The CNC Machinist plays a critical role in producing precision components for various industries, including plastics, packaging, and infrastructure. Responsibilities • Set up, operate, and program CNC milling machines using Fanuc controls or similar systems. • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, GD&T specifications, and CAD models to produce precise parts. • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc. to verify dimensions. • Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime. • Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for machining operations while adhering to safety standards. • Conduct quality checks throughout the manufacturing process to ensure parts meet specifications. • Assist with tooling changes, calibration, and adjustments to optimize machining accuracy. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment following lean manufacturing practices. • Collaborate with engineering teams on process improvements and new project setups. Requirements • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with proficiency in CNC programming (Fanuc preferred). • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, and mechanical drawing interpretation. • Hands-on experience with CNC milling machines; familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus. • Skilled in CAD software such as AutoCAD and general CAM programming techniques. • Ability to operate precision measuring instruments. • Mechanical knowledge of manufacturing processes. • Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during machining processes. • Familiarity with tooling selection, setup procedures, and troubleshooting CNC equipment. • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. • Valid certification or training in lean manufacturing principles is advantageous; forklift operation skills are a plus.
