CNC Machinist/Manual Machinist

Virginia Riggers is seeking an experienced CNC/Manual Machinist to join their team in Winchester, VA. If you have at least 5-10 years of experience as a CNC Machinist or Manual Machinist, this is an opportunity you need to explore! • Responsibilities* Works on a variety of machining processes and equipment. Program and setup CNC equipment such as lathes and milling machines with little or no supervision. Performs machining processes in accordance with policies and procedures. Manufacture and measures parts, making required adjustments on tools to ensure conformance to requirements based on print and/or quality plan. Read and interpret blueprints or drawings necessary to complete assignments. Change tools when needed. Perform paperwork as directed. Performs de-burring processes and protocols if needed. Responsible for keeping the work area and machine equipment in clean and organized condition. Performs preventive maintenance checks per instruction if required. Cnc Machinist

Job Title: Skilled Machinist Job Description We are seeking skilled Machinists capable of running manual and CNC lathes and/or mills to join a team of high-performing scientists, engineers, and technicians at our Sterling, VA facility. Responsibilities • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and grinders, to produce parts and products. • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining operations and dimensions. • Load and edit CNC programs as required to ensure the production of parts to specifications. Troubleshoot and optimize programs for efficiency. • Choose and install appropriate tools, fixtures, and gauges for machining processes. • Verify conformity and quality of finished parts. • Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs to ensure parts meet strict quality standards. • Identify opportunities for process improvements, including optimizing machining time, tool life, and part quality. • Operate manual mills and/or lathes. • Perform regular machine maintenance and cleaning. • Other duties as assigned. Essential Skills • Proficiency in CNC machine operations, including CNC lathe and CNC equipment. • Experience with tool setup and CNC machining processes. • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. • 2+ years of related experience. • Experience with CNC and manual lathe and/or mill operations. • Experience with fixture design. • Ability to interpret drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5-2009. • Ability to inspect parts for dimensional compliance and machining quality. Work Environment The role requires working in a machine shop environment, often exposed to loud noises, moving machinery, and potential hazards.
