This position will be responsible for Setting up, operating, tend milling or planning machines to mill, plane, shape, groove, or profile metal, rock or plastic work pieces. This position hours vary depending on the needs of the business. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING • Possess basic knowledge of asphalt including milling, paving, stripping and heavy equipment operation. • Secures work pieces on machines, using holding devices, measuring instruments, hand tools and hoists • Rebuild Rotec sifters, fabricate and replace screens, replace shoes and anvils in impact mills. • Assemble parts, operate CNC lathe and mills and adjust offsets. • Document all readings and temperatures of water that comes in and out of chillers. • Remove work pieces from machines, and check to ensure that they conform to specifications. • Adjusts controls to set cutting specifications. • Clean inside of crucibles, patch cracks and perform other repair tasks of crucible prior to next run computes dimensions, tolerances, and angles of work pieces or machines according to specifications. • Ensures alignment of work pieces on machines, using measuring instruments such as rules, gauges, or calipers. • Perform maintenance on Milling Machine to include changing of teeth, greasing machine and other activities associated with maintenance as required. • Feed fuel, such as coal into fireboxes or onto conveyors and remove ashes from furnaces, using shovels and buckets Requirements WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. • Required Work Experience: Minimum 3-5 years' experience. • Ability to read blueprints • Basic mathematical skills • Excellent oral communication skills with close attention to detail. • Must understand the technological process and equipment, be able to analyze a situation and independently make decisions to eliminate equipment faults, as well as make adjustments to the milling process to improve the quality of the product. • Ability to unload raw materials, prepare a test run to ensure a machine is working properly and inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet requirements. • An incumbent who is skilled in measuring calipers and hand tools including QC inspection. • Ability to lift 50lbs Additional Requirements: • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
