Read blueprints, schematics, manufacturer instructions and guidelines. Position is subject to 24-hour call back for emergencies, fire, and vandalism and after hours pager rotation. Overtime, scheduled or unscheduled may be required to accomplish tasks. May require working in adverse weather conditions, confined spaces and heights. Must adhere to client safety policies, procedures and training. Responsibilities and Duties · Preform the installation, trouble shooting, diagnostic, replacement, repair and preventative maintenance of all associated heating/ cooling and refrigeration equipment such as, but not limited to; gas and oil fired boilers, furnaces, stoves, ovens, incinerators, window a/c units, package heating/cooling units, walk-in coolers, refrigerators, freezers, water coolers, climate-control chambers, cryostats, icemakers, soft-serve machines, and cold baths .Repair leaks on equipment. Perform preventative maintenance. Disassemble equipment to clean, remove soot, replace air filters, lubricate, make necessary adjustments, etc. Perform trouble shooting, diagnosis, replacement and/or repair of electric motors, refrigerant compressors, solid-state controls, switches, relays, solenoids, bearings, electronic circuits, heat exchangers, thermostats, photoelectric cells, switches, transformers, thermocouples, 24 to 480 volt electrical, equipment pumps and other components specific to the equipment after EMC enabling relay. Work from building plans, blueprints, sketches and verbal instruction. Analyze and retrofit refrigeration and air conditioning equipment to new HFC and HCFC refrigerants. Perform other tasks assigned. 50% of Time. · Apply EPA regulations and handling refrigerants properly. Perform the use of EPA certified reclaiming equipment, required tracking of refrigerant, monthly refrigerant inventory, proper disposal of refrigerant and refrigeration equipment. Charge systems with refrigerants, replacing refrigerant or water lines, repair or replace seals, valves, dehydrants, coils, compressors. Test for shorts, resistance, pressures, and vacuums, using gauges, leak detectors, compressor checkers, capacitor analyzers, ammeters, voltmeters, etc. 25% of Time. · Apply the proper use of refrigeration and heating/cooling repair equipment and tools. Proficient in the use of various tools in the shop and field i.e. hand tools, power hand tools, and powered equipment.
