Base pay range $21.00/hr - $27.00/hr Job Title Maintenance Tech HVAC Department Support Services Reports to Director of Support Services Employment Status Full time / Non-Exempt Role Summary The HVAC technician will be responsible for routine maintenance and repair, scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled repair on the facility and equipment. Occasional work with the water system. Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs. Qualifications • Must be an individual in agreement with White's Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, and Code of Conduct. • At least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. • 1–3 years of maintenance experience required. • Must hold a Class 3 or Universal EPA refrigeration license. • Proficient in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work. • Must be willing to obtain WT2 and DSS licenses from IDEM (if not already certified). Knowledge, Skills And Abilities • Must be skilled in the use of various hand tools, plumbing, and electrical tools and various pieces of power equipment. • Must be a team player. This person needs to enjoy working closely with other staff members and have the ability to be flexible, adaptive, and positive in his/her interactions. • Must work well under limited supervision. • Must be able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. • Must be committed to the Mission of Josiah White’s. Responsibilities • Perform all routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair on HVAC equipment, commercial cooking equipment, and refrigeration equipment. • Weigh and record all refrigerants installed or removed from equipment. Accurate records required by EPA. • Perform maintenance and repair of the facility and equipment to include mechanical, plumbing, etc. as directed by the supervisor. • Complete any other tasks assigned by the maintenance supervisor. • Keep the shop area clean. Work Schedule / Conditions • Normal work hours are as scheduled by supervisor (7:00 am – 3:30 pm). • Must be able to work every eighth weekend and be on-call as needed during the week. • Work hours are subject to change at the discretion of the supervisor. • Work Holidays as scheduled. • Must attend work regularly and be on time. Physical Demands • Standing – Occasionally: Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods (up to two hours) while working on various tasks. • Sitting – Occasionally: Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods (up to two hours) while working on various tasks. • Walking / Moving About Campus – Frequently: Requires moving freely across the campus to perform maintenance tasks in different locations. • Lifting up to 50 lbs – Occasionally: May involve lifting, carrying, or pushing/pulling heavy objects up to 50 lbs, including equipment. • Bending / Twisting – Occasionally: May need to bend or twist to access or maintain equipment, or during routine maintenance activities. • Reaching Overhead – Occasionally: May involve reaching overhead to access equipment, materials, or perform maintenance tasks. • Climbing Ladder or Stairs – Occasionally: Requires climbing ladders or stairs to access elevated areas or equipment. • Pushing / Pulling – Occasionally: Involves pushing or pulling equipment, carts, or materials during daily tasks or repairs. • Working in Outdoor Conditions – Frequently: Exposure to various weather conditions while performing tasks outdoors or in unconditioned spaces. • Communicating – Constantly: Frequent verbal communication with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments. • Using Hand Tools or Power Equipment – Frequently: Requires frequent use of hand tools, power equipment, and plumbing or electrical tools. • Typing or Date Entry – Occasionally: May require occasional data entry or record-keeping related to equipment maintenance or repairs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
