Essential Task Description: • Inspect air-conditioning units for optimal performance. • Conduct regular maintenance on heating and cooling systems. • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues. • Install, replace, or repair damaged equipment and calibrate thermostatic controls. • Install new HVAC systems and repair old or damaged components. • Monitor and adjust pressure of liquids and vapors to ensure efficient operation. • Maintain hot and chilled water supply systems. • Adjust and service electrical control systems, clean coils, inspect motors, and tension belts. • Assist with the installation of metal ductwork. • Help plan and design new heating and cooling system installations. • Maintain accurate service records as per city, state, and EPA regulations. • Recognize and manage potential risks and hazards in the workplace. • Collaborate with management to foster a safe working environment. Knowledge of: • HVAC maintenance and repair principles, along with safety practices. • HVAC controls, safety devices, and proper chemical handling. • Electrical circuits relevant to HVAC systems. • Basic skills in sheet metal, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. • Understanding of building automation controls.
