Position Summary An HVAC/R Service Technician III is a highly skilled and experienced lead heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technician working under little-to-no direct supervision in mainly the Central Indiana region. Those in this position help lead our team in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial and industrial equipment, including but not limited to: Boilers, Chillers, Refrigeration Systems, Air Handling Systems, Hydronic Systems, Makeup Air Units, Temperature Controls, Heat Pumps, Paint Booths and Exhaust Fans. Primary Responsibilities and Duties • Diagnose, repair and help maintain advanced commercial and industrial HVAC/R equipment performance and efficiency issues • Obtain vendor pricing for needed repair parts • Submit quote information and Service Work Orders in a timely fashion via our Service Field App • Enter accurate equipment, site, material, and customer information into our Service Field App • Effectively and professionally communicate with customers on-site • Effectively communicate with Dispatch and Service Support • Assist teammates with diagnosing and repairing HVAC/R issues in-person and/or remotely • Perform various related duties assigned by Dispatch and Management Traits/Competencies • Flexibility • Resourcefulness • Decisiveness • Initiative • Dependability Requirements • Minimum 5 years of direct experience with service, diagnostics and repairs of Commercial and/or Industrial HVAC and Refrigeration Equipment, Systems and Buildings • Type 2/3 EPA Refrigeration Certification (Universal preferred) • Willingness to help teammates • Must maintain a neat appearance and take pride in quality work • Requires excellent customer service and communication skill • Must be safety conscious, well organized and have good verbal / writing skills • Must be drug free and have a clear current driving record with valid license • Must provide own basic hand tools, meters and refrigeration gauges • Must be available for after-hours emergency on-call rotation Physical Demands • The position requires standing, bending, reaching, lifting a majority of the workday • Lift 50 pounds • Climb tall ladders • Working on flat and/or slightly sloped roofs • Working from scaffolding and lifts • Drive a company vehicle (service van) • Exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures and weather conditions • Other manual labor as required.
