Summary: Responsible for designing, building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures and other items using different types of materials. Primary Responsibilities and Requirements: • Prepare the layout of the project. • General Trades knowledge for commercial applications • Finish Carpentry • Install trim • Install Doors, Frames & Hardware • Install laminate • Rough carpentry: blocking, nailer, barricading & temp walls • Ability to use hand & power tools for required jobs • Select materials • Work with blueprints & specs • Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall. • Utilize saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures. • Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives. • Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure. • Install cabinets and countertop • Install owner furnished items • Material handling of plywood cabinets and lumber. Able to lift 50 pounds on and off a truck. A Brief Overview The Designer Hourly uses computer or technical tools to prepare detailed presentation of building material requirements and or systems for assigned project or related segment. This position may design and complete layouts of residential roof and floor systems for pricing and manufacturing.
