Job Responsibilities: • Oversee and lead a crew of carpenters in the construction of formwork, falsework, and structural components for heavy civil projects. • Read and interpret blueprints, project specifications, and technical drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Construct, assemble, and dismantle formwork and shoring systems for concrete structures. • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations, company policies, and project timelines. • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to optimize workflow and efficiency. • Train and mentor junior carpenters and laborers to improve skill development and maintain high standards of workmanship. • Operate and maintain hand and power tools safely and effectively. • Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications. Qualifications & Requirements: • 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. • Proficiency in constructing formwork, falsework, and other structural frameworks. • Strong knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and safety protocols (OSHA compliance). • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications. • Experience operating heavy equipment and power tools related to carpentry. • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments. • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Scope of work: Musthave knowledge of how to shoot elevations and the understanding spot grading, all areas of concrete work forming including symons forms and concrete finishing. Able to read and interpret blueprints, good mathematical skills, have experience with emphasis on framing (wood and metal studs), doors and hardware (wood and hollow metal), drywall installation/patching, interior finish work and casework, remodeling demolition experience. Able to run equipment and specialty tools as needed. Superintendents must have experience running a crew, managing all subcontractors along with project scheduling, being able to meet all deadlines per project schedule and be able to focus on getting the job done efficiently and correctly.
