Skilled Carpenter/Handyman – Remodeling & Deck Builder

Clean Slate Construction – Las Vegas, NV Full-Time | $35/hr to start Clean Slate Construction is looking for a well-rounded craftsman who can jump into bathroom remodels, kitchen remodels, handyman work, and wood/composite deck builds—including layout and design. If you can swing a hammer, read a tape, and problem-solve without calling your tools by swear words… we want to talk to you. What You’ll Do • Perform general handyman tasks (repairs, installs, troubleshooting). • Execute full bathroom and kitchen remodels with quality and efficiency. • Build wood and composite decks from design/layout to completion. • Work directly with clients and maintain a professional, friendly demeanor. • Use your personal truck for transportation between job sites (see perks below). • Optional: Assist with estimating if that’s in your skillset—big bonus points. What You Need • Experience: Skilled with carpentry, remodeling, and handyman work. • Design/Layout Skills: Especially for decks and kitchen/bath projects. • Tools: Basic hand and power tools. • Truck: 6-ft bed or larger required (sorry, tiny-bed Tacoma crew—we love you, but physics disagrees). • Reliability: Show up on time, communicate well, and take pride in your work. Reports to: Production Manager Overview: We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Lead Carpenter with hands-on experience in custom exhibit and tradeshow booth fabrication. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and takes pride in bringing designs to life — from concept drawings to the final show floor installation. Key Responsibilities: • Fabrication Leadership: Oversee the construction of custom booths, displays, and scenic elements using wood, laminate, acrylic, metal, and other materials common in the exhibit industry. • Blueprint Reading: Interpret design drawings, renderings, and shop schematics to build projects accurately and efficiently. • Team Coordination: Lead and mentor a small team of carpenters and finishers, ensuring production deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained. • Problem Solving: Work closely with designers and project managers to resolve on-site or in-shop challenges quickly and creatively. • Finishing & Detailing: Ensure all pieces are finished to a high standard — sanding, painting, trimming, and fitting hardware with precision. • Show Prep & Logistics: Assist in packing, labeling, and loading projects for shipping to show sites, ensuring safe transport and easy setup. • Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace; perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment.
