Summary/Objectives The Lead Carpenter is responsible to the Supervisor of Maintenance & Operations to maintain and repair all varieties of carpentry related items on college property as well as design and build items as needed. Essential Functions • Design, purchase, build and maintain, and replace all structural facets of a physical building from bottom to top. (floor systems, walls, ceilings, attic spaces, roofing) • Repair/refurbish aspects of furniture as assigned. Repair or rebuild a building commercial hardware, millwork, and fenestration. (doors/door jambs, windows, etc.) • Supervise student employees assigned to the Carpentry Shop, giving them instruction on safe and responsible work practices, and maintain the shop and any work areas in a clean and orderly fashion. Stock and maintain the carpentry shop. • Respond to after work hours call-in for emergencies in your work scope, or to assist others. • Monitor outside contractors as assigned. • Secure, repair or replace broken or unserviceable windows or glass panes on campus. • Fulfill such other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Maintenance & Operations.
