Communications and Media Relations Specialist

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Outreach and Marketing Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for building and maintaining a positive public image for our organization by developing media strategies, crafting compelling press materials, and fostering relationships with media outlets and community partners. Our organization covers the southern states (Texas to Georgia and the Carolinas), and some travel may be required, advanced notice will be provided. Duties • Develop and implement PR strategies that align with organizational goals. • Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communications materials. • Coordinate media outreach and respond to media inquiries. • Monitor media and prepare regular reports on PR performance. • Collaborate with Outreach and Marketing team to ensure consistent messaging. • Organize and promote events, press conferences, and community engagement initiatives. • Develop and maintain relationships with high schools, technical colleges, universities, and other community-based organizations. • Speaking or attending career fairs offered by our partnered organizations. • Maintain and update contact lists and PR databases using CRM software. • Database entry and database development for Outreach and Marketing initiatives. Qualifications • Experience in public relations, media, or communications. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Strong organizational and project management abilities. • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Preferred Skills: • Experience in digital PR or social media strategy. • Knowledge of content marketing. • Experience in education or construction. • Strong proficiency in Office Suite • Experience working with CRM software • Strong problem-solving skills Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $52,000.00 per year Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Retirement plan • Vision insurance Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Monday to Friday • Weekends as needed Work Location: In person
