Direct Supervisor: Superintendent Qualifications: A Carpenter I (Entry- Level) is required to help experienced workers by performing routine tasks such as loading and unloading materials and preparing and cleaning the worksite for projects. They usually need to learn from other workers how to do more difficult tasks such as using special equipment and tools. In the Carpenter I role, employees learn carpentry basics, blue print reading, mathematics, building code requirements, and safety and first-aid practices. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Typically, a Carpenter I will need to acquire three to four years of experience learning from Journey Level Carpenters before the potential of advancing to a Carpenter II (Journey-Level).
