Construction Carpenter/Steel Framer, $25+/hr

Forks Lath & Plaster (FLP) is currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team. We currently looking to add Carpenters/Steel Framers to our team in the Grand Forks & Fargo areas, as well as throughout the state. FLP has been in business for over 25 years and offers excellent compensation packages, along with a stable and solid work environment. The Carpenter/Steel Framer is responsible for framing commercial projects using steel framing materials. The Steel Framer will install metal studs used to create the framework for walls in commercial buildings, cut and trim materials, and use hand tools, power tools, and various equipment to complete their work. The Steel Framer will also read blueprints to determine methods of installation, and measure and mark surfaces to lay out work using various marking devices/tools. Community Contractors is looking for the right candidate who can deliver cabinets that are both practical and aesthetically pleasing. Using the specs provided by our cabinet shop manager, you will use your building and mathematical skills to create cabinets that meet very specific guidelines. We pride ourselves on building all cabinets from the ground up. No CNC machines here, you will be crafting cabinets from scratch. You’ll work alongside the other members of our building team to create an important product that is in high demand. This is a great way to put your carpentry skills to use in an environment where your experience and insight will be sincerely valued. Cabinet Maker Responsibilities: • Selecting the appropriate materials, fittings, and tools for each task. • Cutting resources down to size, as needed. • Planning an effective approach to work to ensure that each project is completed on time. • Creating standard and custom components of cabinets. • Gathering the elements of each cabinet and assembling the final product. • Applying sealant, varnish, and paint to cabinets, if required. • Inspecting each completed item to ensure that it has been constructed accurately, and that the necessary finishes have been applied. • Wearing the requisite personal protective equipment and taking necessary precautions to remain safe. Advising on appropriate care for finished products upon request. Cabinet Maker Requirements: • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. • Completion of a training program or apprenticeship would be advantageous. • Prior experience as a Cabinet Maker, with a portfolio of completed works. • The ability to visualize spaces to create appropriate furniture. • Good arithmetic skills. • Excellent teamwork and customer service skills. • Attention to detail. • Ability to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing workmanship. • Physical fitness, including ease of movement and the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
