General Purpose: Following blueprints or other specifications, a carpenter builds, assembles, installs and repairs fixtures and structures that are made of wood. Carpenters construct and repair building frameworks and structures—such as stairways, doorframes, partitions, and rafters—made from wood and other materials. They also may install kitchen cabinets, siding, and drywall. Carpenters perform formwork carpentry and sets forms for concrete structures, footings and bridges using hand tools and power. Position and place rebar in concrete forms to reinforce concrete. Work Schedule: Days and hours vary depending on the assigned project. Required Experience • Minimum of three months past experience working as a carpenter.
