Overview Hemlock Contracting is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter with a strong focus on deck, porch, and framing construction. We’re looking for someone who excels in hands-on building, takes pride in their craftsmanship, and can lead a team to deliver high-quality, structurally sound projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on working outdoors and enjoys creating well-built, lasting structures from the ground up. Responsibilities • Lead the construction of decks, porches, and framing projects from start to finish. • Work alongside and supervise a team to ensure efficient, high-quality workmanship. • Perform all phases of carpentry work, including layout, measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing structural components. • Handle tasks such as installing posts, beams, joists, railings, stairs, and other framing elements. • Oversee project progress, solve on-site issues, and make adjustments as needed to keep work on track. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite at all times. Experience • Extensive hands-on experience in building decks, porches, and framing. • Strong knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and techniques. • Proven ability to lead a crew and manage time and materials efficiently. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to construction quality and detail. • Valid driver’s license required for travel to job sites.
