Field Engineer - Solar & Renewable Energy

We are expanding our Solar Renewables Construction Group and are looking for enthusiastic, driven individuals eager to help shape the renewable energy infrastructure of tomorrow. As a Field Engineer, you'll embark on a fascinating journey, visiting various construction sites and working at the forefront of sustainability. Your main role will be to independently inspect and monitor construction activities, ensuring they adhere to our blueprints and meet all essential specifications and codes. Location & Travel Details: This position involves extensive travel across the country, working on renewable projects. This is a full-time traveling position, with a potential placement on project sites nationwide. Routine travel home (rotation) is also eligible, alongside a monthly vehicle allowance. Responsibilities: • Adhere to and promote company safety policies and procedures. • Inspect and ensure quality on large-scale wind and solar projects, including roads, excavations, substations, and installations. • Confirm construction work aligns with design documents. • Review inspection reports and communicate any issues to the Field Quality Manager. • Ensure materials comply with approved submittals and site specifications. • Conduct surveying and measuring for roadways and structures. • Organize daily activities to effectively record QC and QA data. • Monitor work scope and prepare comprehensive Daily Reports on project progress. • Identify deficiencies through pre-construction inspections and address issues promptly. • Collaborate with the Field Quality Manager and site management to maintain QA/QC compliance. • Communicate progress with construction managers to coordinate field operations. • Assist in compiling operations and maintenance manuals. • Ensure compliance with inventory processes for materials. • Manage punch lists for completed work. • Maintain production and extra work authorization logs. • Participate in the daily validation of calibrated tools and equipment. • Utilize construction management software for documentation. • Support job book development and benchmarking. • Mentor and train Quality Inspectors as needed. • Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Compensation: Field Engineer I: • Compensation: $65,000-$70,000 per year, based on experience. • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred. • High School diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of relevant construction experience. • Must complete and pass the local or state certified Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) inspector program and demonstrate knowledge of SWPPP project management. Field Engineer II: • Compensation: $70,000-$80,000 per year, based on experience. • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, and 1-2 years of experience in construction. • High School diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant construction experience. • Must complete and pass the local or state certified SWPPP inspector program and show knowledge of SWPPP project management. Field Engineer III: • Compensation: $80,000-$90,000 per year, based on experience. • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with 2-3 years of experience preferred. • High School diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of relevant construction experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Commitment to health and safety principles aligned with the Company’s Zero Injury goals. • Self-starter with strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. • Experience with computer software for documenting, analyzing, and retaining quality records. • Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage tasks independently. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents. • Capability to write daily reports and document project activities effectively. • Adept at collecting and recording field data to ensure compliance with corporate Quality Control procedures. • Proficient in basic algebra and geometry for calculations. • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of field professionals. Traveling Wind Turbine Technician

ACAV and Associates LLC is hiring Traveling Wind Turbine Technicians to work on electric motors and generators in wind turbines across North America. Responsibilities include maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repairs of turbine equipment. Candidates should have at least one year of experience, relevant certifications, and be willing to travel up to 80% of the time. Home location is flexible, indicating a remote work aspect. Job Responsibilities: • Replace up tower generator bearings and collector rings • Replace up tower generator wye rings and rotor shaft leads • Perform inspection, testing, repairs, major component bearing changing experience on wind turbine generators and related wind farm equipment up to 13.2kV. • Perform removal and replacement of generators, gearboxes, rotor assemblies, blade assemblies and auxiliary motors. • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical or hydraulic components and equipment on wind turbines and related wind farm equipment • Read drawings, prints & schematics and use multi-meters, amp clamps and basic electrical test equipment and torque tools • Perform predictive and preventive maintenance using technologies such as, lubrication, insulation resistance, surge testing, vibration analysis, dynamic electrical testing, etc. • Perform root cause analysis to identify equipment faults or problems, and to actively help develop solutions for corrective actions Minimum Qualifications: • At least 1 year related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • High School Diploma or GED; (Associates degree or Certification as a Wind Turbine Technician is a plus) • Current OSHA 10, First Aid and CPR Certifications • Able to climb and work at or above 260+ feet • Substantial mechanical and electrical testing and troubleshooting skills • Basic computer skills • Good written and verbal skills • Must be able to lift, up to 75 lbs., walk, climb, reach, kneel, crawl, and balance • Must be willing to travel nationwide up to 80% of the time Additional Requirements: • All offers are contingent upon acceptable criminal pre-employment background check, drug and alcohol screening results. • Must be able to pass periodic, unannounced random drug tests. • Must be able to pass a fit-for-duty physical exam. • Must have a valid driver's license, and currently have, and be able to maintain, a good driving record. • Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak English.
