Wind Tower Production Specialist

Job Overview: • Set up and operate machines, using blueprints and adjusting for materials used. • Verify dimensional requirements and transfer materials to storage areas. • Work with unconventional materials that require specialized skills. Key Responsibilities: • Roll and re-roll plate to match sweep. • Inspect plate for defects and damage. • Operate burn table to cut plate according to blueprints and measurements. • Operate mag lift to transfer plate within the department. • Blast and paint plate. • Follow all safety rules and practices. • Maintain and improve quality. • Assist in completion of all tasks to meet deadlines. Requirements: • A minimum of one year of experience. • The ability to operate a lift to move loads up to 5,000 pounds. • The ability to operate an overhead crane on a production line. • The ability to read a tape measurer. • The ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. • Ability to work as a team, demonstrate high ethical standards, treat all coworkers with dignity and respect, and support a positive working culture. Working Conditions: • Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production, and non-production areas and plant grounds. • This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays. • Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.

Wind Blade Manufacturing Opportunities

Job Title: Wind Blade Manufacturing Associate This position involves working in an industrial environment to produce high-quality wind blades. The ideal candidate will have experience with manufacturing and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. The job requires cutting, handling, and applying fiberglass, resin, and adhesives. The associate must also assemble parts, trim, drill, grind, sand, and finish cured parts according to specifications. Key Responsibilities: • Cutting fiberglass cloth to size using cutting machines, scissors, or knives • Applying layers of fiberglass cloth onto molds or fixtures in predetermined ply sequence • Encasing molded laminate in bagging material and bleeder cloth, attaching vacuum bagging apparatus • Dispensing, handling, and applying composite resins and adhesives • Trimming, drilling, grinding, sanding, and finishing cured parts to specifications • Assembling cured parts into assemblies or subassemblies using jigs, fixtures, power tools, and fasteners Required Skills and Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent preferred • Basic reading, writing, math, and listening skills • Ability to read a tape measure • Strong eye-hand coordination • A strong work ethic and attention to detail and quality • Commitment to mastering the craft of blade building • 2 years' previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred but not required Benefits: • Competitive compensation package • Health and dental insurance • 401(k) plan with company match • Paid vacation plans Others: This position is on site at our wind blade manufacturing site in Newton, Iowa.
