Hi-Vac is an industry leader in manufacturing large industrial environmental truck and trailer mounted equipment that is sold all over the world! The Welder is responsible for laying out, fitting and welding fabricated, cast and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, and pressure vessels. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: • Laying out, measuring, positioning, aligning and fitting components together. • Assembling parts from blueprints. • Discussing errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify production problems. • Setting up equipment and welding parts with Mig and Tig. • Performing related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding. • Repairing products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts. • Finishing parts per blueprint, de-bur sharp edges. • Rolling tank sections from flat steel. • Welding tank sections together. • Ability to weld in all positions and ensuring weld quality. • Facilitating and/or performing corrective action if problems are noted in function or appearance. How Will You Make an Impact?: In this role, you will adhere to established manufacturing processes to meet production delivery schedules and uphold the company's quality objectives. You will weld parts according to engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring flawless execution and outstanding quality. Collaborate with your colleagues to troubleshoot problems and successfully implement continuous improvement initiatives. A Day in the Life: • Position and clamp components of fabricated metal products prior to welding. • Set up and adjust welding equipment as needed. • Weld metal parts using MIG, TIG, and resistance welding within design specifications. • Inspect parts to verify material accuracy and quality. • Perform first piece production reviews to confirm compliance. • Remove burrs and sharp edges using portable grinders. • Track and dispose of scrap, and complete non-conforming tickets. • Verify and complete job routing by signing router sheets. • Alert supervisor of quality problems and job status. Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience is required. Experience: • Required: One year welding experience or welding certification (MIG and TIG) • Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: • Ability to read mechanical drawings. • Strong attention to detail. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
